Couples counseling can support a husband and wife through communication training, conflict resolution, and psychoeducation for issues like coping with a spouse who has ADHD. Many couples experience a decreased ability to work through difficulties on occasion and can benefit from conflict resolution support from a qualified mental health professional. Signs that your marriage or relationship could benefit from couples therapy include:

- unresolved conflicts
- a desire to communicate better

- a desire for increased intimacy
- emotional connection

- blended family concerns
Premarital counseling is for couples who are engaged or anticipate engagement for marriage. Our office utilizes the PREPARE/ENRICH model for couple assessments and workbooks. Premarital counseling incorporates the assessment and some components of the workbook. Each of these require separate purchases directly from PREPARE/ENRICH which total less than $50 at the time of this publication.
At this time, Jennifer Lytle, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Parent Coach, works with families providing parent support. This is done through psychoeducation, skills training, and assessments when necessary. Families of all stages of life can benefit from this specific support.
- Blended families
- Parents and families preparing to separate or divorce
- Families who relocate
- Parents with sensitive children
- Parents with anxious children
- Parents with children who have a disability
- Parents with children who have Suicidal Ideation
- Parents who have mental health needs
Parenting support can be particularly meaningful for parents of children with learning differences, strong personalities, and who have experienced conflict or trauma in their own family of origin. Resolving past pains and hurts experienced is childhood has proved powerful for many parents.
Child therapy is currently available to ages 4 through 12 and frequently includes play-based therapy and art-based or expressive continuum therapy, based on the child’s needs and preferences. There is a designated play room for child therapy at Joyful Journeys Counseling and the primary office is also easily amenable to accommodate playful and therapeutic activities like sandtray therapy, therapeutic games, or art-based therapy.
Anxiety treatment is a focused and short-term approach to supporting children, teens, and adults learn to cope with anxious feelings and related behaviors. This specialized service is available to EAP clients.
Christian Counseling, provided by Pastor Michael Lytle, incorporates a deep lens of theology, understanding of relationships from a biblical framework, and body science. Many couples have benefited from this work through increased trust, understanding, and improved communication.
