Are you a CGE (Can’t get enough) GATD (Gimme all the details)?
Joyful Journeys Counseling is thrilled to share Founder, Jennifer Lytle’s second publication of 2025. The Wisdom Collection: Stories That Transform How We Live, Connect, and Lead is one book you will read from cover to cover. JJC’s featured nugget of wisdom is #OpenPalmsAsk #debut harvested from years in the clinical setting. So, I probably owe a huge #shoutout and #thankyou to those who were daring, honest, and motivated enough to sit on that velveteen couch over the past several years. You have inspired me to share an insight that so, so many of you have needed and grown from.

Asking for what you want is always okay.
Asking for what you want is always okay. It’s been encouraging for me to learn that many of you needed this affirmation. You would think that in a world where we make purchase orders with ease and regularity, it might be a no-brainer. Ask for what you want. But, I have had to share this truth with hundreds if not thousands of women over the years. Yes, it has primarily been women though there have certainly been a few dads who needed this advice too. Whether you grew up being ignored or playing the easy-go-lucky role in your family. You grew up with your game face on. You are the top tier, those who graduated with honors or at least knowing your ranking. You would calculate the ROI and determine your input from there. Sometimes you would give it your all and sometimes you would shrink back because there often was no sense in putting it all on the field of life.
There’s a Better Way to Ask
Now, you have to learn a new way of asking for what you want. Because you spent years honing that demanding and oppressive invisible weight to get what you needed. Today, you want and need a softer version of you to experience life. You want to show up with grace and patience and that is where Open Palms Ask steps on stage. Great results yield when we accept others also have wants and needs that will inevitably differ from ours.
When we seek to connect, first, we go from manipulating to living. A deeper fulfillment of learning teamwork for the win. It’s what Open Palms Ask is all about and I cannot wait to share my collection with you. Please, mark your calendars. It’s coming oh so soon.

The Open Palms Ask is a joyful way of aiming for what we want without alienating those around us or resorting to manipulation. Keep connected, honest, and humble with Open Palms Ask. Anticipate a page-turner with “The Wisdom Collection” set for publication on June 24th. Mark your calendars because it will be on sale for $1.99 for only 24-48 hours on Amazon.
