The Rapids Are Real

Are you singing Bing Crosby’s line, “and Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again?” ‘Tis the season where parents and teens find themselves together for more hours than in a typical week. Crazy sleep schedules, ravenous appetites, and demands for
both more (more screen time, more freedom to set their schedule or spend their money)
and less (less oversight, less insight, less shared space and time) . . . this time of year can be tricky to navigate.

According to the hundreds of parents who have come to Joyful Journeys Counseling over the years, this time of year can be touch and go.
